The Atomic Punks are a tribute to early Van Halen, the David Lee Roth era. Formed in 1994, the Atomic Punks have performed well over 2000 shows throughout the United States. Globally know as the Worlds "Greatest" tribute to David Lee Roth era Van Halen, the Atomic Punks have an International following that continues to grow every year. Van Halen themselves have endorsed the Atomic Punks! In his 1997 auto-biography "Crazy from the Heat," Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth referred to the Atomic Punks as "The best tribute to Van Halen EVER!" Dave cemented his admiration and appreciation for the Punks' talents by hiring original axeman Bart Walsh to play guitar on his "DLR Band" tours from 1999-2001. Bart's replacement, Brian Young, recreated Eddie Van Halen's sound and furious guitar playing so precisely, that Dave again looked to the Punks, and took the guitarist out on the road in 2002 for his national tour with fellow ex-Van Halen frontman, Sammy Hagar. Anthony joined the band again on stage, at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA on January 31, 2003. He played nine Van Halen classics with the band including, "Runnin' With The Devil," "Hot For Teacher," "Somebody Get Me A Doctor," "Light Up The Sky," "You Really Got Me," "Panama," "Bottoms Up!," "Mean Street," and "On Fire." Nationally syndicated radio host Howard Stern stated on his show, "The Atomic Punks become Van Halen. It's the total experience, they do Van Halen better than Van Halen themselves!" Atomic Punks fans boast that Brian's recreation of David Lee Roth's live persona is so uncanny, it must be witnessed to be believed. Although El Loco Fandango was officially formed nearly 2021, the idea had been floating around for some time. Don and Mike often heard "hey it's ZZ Top" when they were seen together at a bar or local show. The "fateful" day that Tim Elliott overheard the comment, he stepped up and the trio was born! For the next several months, the guys put together a set culled from ZZ Top's vast, 50 years in the making, library of songs. Tribute bands are all about the details, so creating a great ZZ Top show required a lot attention to both look and sound. Don, Mike and Tim carefully crafted the tone to emulate the live performances as well as the recorded versions of their biggest hits. When it comes to wardrobe, a lot of time has been spent shopping at fine Western wear, searching for proper beard care and ensuring the proper amount of "bling" is present on each ensemble. All that, along with the wide selection of matching instruments, bring unmatched authenticity to the show. BARRIE CUNNINGHAM IS A PRODUCER, ENTERTAINER, SINGER AND MUSICIAN. He has spent most of his life entertaining in clubs, lounges, showrooms, concert halls and on cruise ships around the world. He performs as a solo act or with full accompaniment. He began performing in coffeehouses singing folk music when he was 15 in California, Maryland, Florida and New York. He later made his mark in Southern California with the popular rock-a-billy group Black Slacks. He has received many awards including Entertainer of the Year in San Diego, California and was a principal act in a show voted Show of the Year in Reno, NV for 3 years. In 2008, he performed a concert for the opening of the new American Embassy at the historic Brandenburg Gate-Berlin, Germany. He has also performed for The National Governor’s Convention in Biloxi, MS and for many large corporate events.
