Rising Star band is a 7 member cover band from San Diego playing popular party club hits from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and today. The Risingstarband incorporates “live” horns and 4 part harmonize all in a NON-STOP high energy chorographic performance. In addition performing on stage with the band the group enlist 3 professional chorographer/dancers to hype up the band show EFREN SICAT Vocal-Keys-Trumpet Efren E Sicat is one of the original members of the Risingstarband. back in 1980 the band name was called Cycles and change it to itâs current name in 1987 when the band first formed Efren started out being the keyboard player and double on trumpet. EDWIN SICAT Musical Director Musical director, keyboards, guitar, trumpet, trombone, flute and vocals. One of the original members of Rising Star, Edwin is the musician âextraordinaireâ playing every musical instrument from Keyboards to flute with musical mastery. JOSE DEL ROSARIO Vocals-Trombone Jose Del Rosario is a 28 year veteran of Rising Star Entertainers and a musician performing professionally four to six shows a week, approximately 42-48 weeks a year since 1976. Touring the Southwest US and occasionally Far East, Jose hired as a Tombonist and played keyboards and worked programming the arrangements for shows. LEROY PAYTON Vocals-Saxophone Leroy Payton, from Oceanside, California, on saxophone and lead vocals, playing the San Diego scene since the 80â²s with the popular group Forward Motion, joined with Rising Star in the early 90â²s. RODNEY JONES
Drums
Rodney Jones is a self taught drummer who started playing drums at the early age of 4. Being raised in a family of musicians, he was exposed to a wide range of music. At the age of 16, he began playing drums in church and for different local groups.
ALICIA HENNIS
Vocals
A*za has been singing since she can remember. She is also a classical pianist, who was self taught at the young age of 5 and grew up surrounded by music & the arts. A*za sang in church and played piano for the childrenâs choir.
