Back to when Berry Gordy’s Motown label and his studio band the Funk Brothers and Stax records Booker T and the MG’s were the proponents of what came to be known as a historical style of music. Soul Music…. Take the trip back to when King and Smash records gave us The Godfather of Soul while the Columbia label brought us The Queen of Soul… Now after a twenty eight year tenure with “The Drifters”, vocalists Prentiss McNeil and Bruce “Big Daddy” Wayne from Wilson Pickett’s Midnight Movers are leading this classic soul review with unmatched energy and breath taking showmanship. A Decade of Soul is not your ordinary cover band. Although their 10 year run is a tribute to songs that span earlier tunes of Sam Cooke, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding and Sly & The Family Stone to the hits and acts of the Motown Years, they have a distinctive sound that respects the originals they are performing, yet they have something extra.
